You could be an ACTIVE member of the Navy Mothers' Clubs of America! Are you a father, brother, sister, grandmother, husband or wife or son or daughter of present military personnel or those having received an honorable or medical discharge? You could be ASSOCIATE Member of the Navy Mothers' Clubs of America! Are you a Chaplain of Navy, Marines, or Coast Guard, former Chaplain or civilian interested in aiding Navy Mothers' Clubs of America? You could be an HONORARY Member of the Navy Mothers' Clubs of America! ABOUT US: HISTORY: Navy Mothers' Clubs of America was organized in June 1930 by Emma Jones of McAllen, TX. Club No. 1 began with 29 members. OUR MISSION: Helping our Military Personnel, Veterans and supporting one another. Navy Mothers' Clubs of America is nonsectarian and non-political and is primarily a Welfare Organization. During the war years it was one of only 20 organizations recognized by the President's Welfare Control Board. It has been in active Welfare Work since 1930, is tax exempt by Internal Revenue Service. LOCAL CLUBS: Each Navy Mothers' Club has it's own projects it pursues, while following the by-laws and guidelines of the Navy Mothers' Clubs of America. REACHING OUT: Some clubs are active at the U.S.O., Veterans Homes, VA Hospitals, etc. RECOGNITION: A special National Navy Mothers' Day, in August of each year, was proclaimed by the Navy Dept. in recognition of the dedicated women who are interested in the welfare of the men and women in the US Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Sea Bees. NATIONAL: The National Convention, with delegates from every Club in the US is held biennially in the even years; this Convention is held in a different section of the country each time.
